New Grad Student Position

Research Group Bernauer has an opening for a new graduate student. This graduate student would be primarily focused on working on MUSE, both in data analysis, and taking shifts. MUSE takes place at the Paul Scherrer Institut in Villigen, Switzerland. When the group visits the lab, we often take time to visit the Swiss countryside and climb local mountains, and enjoy local Fondue and Raclette. Zurich is very close by train and has excellent festivals, shopping, and a great boat tour of the lake.

There is also the opportunity for the student to spend time at Mainz taking shifts on the A1 collaboration experiments. Mainz University is located in the city of Mainz, Germany, just east of Frankfurt. Mainz is a quintessential German town, that hosts many festivals in the summer and has a great winter market.

Students would also be encouraged to attend national and international conferences and workshops to present their work to the broader physics community.

Additionally students would be expected to supervise undergraduate students.

We are a very active research group, any graduate student will be heavily involved in the drafting and submission of manuscripts for their primary research projects.
