About Robert Burmeister

I am a 22 year old, 5th year undergrad student at Stony Brook University. My major is health science and I am a dual minor in biology, and writing and rhetoric. I have an interest in environmental health & safety, and am currently researching careers in environmental journalism. I am skilled at communication and applying scientific knowledge to practical and relatable terms. I hope to one day work towards creating a more sustainable way of living in the modern world, so that people can survive and succeed against environmental threats - whether they are naturally occurring or artificially advanced.

Hello and welcome to my blog!

My name is Robert Burmeister, and this is my professional portfolio. I am a 22 year old student in my fifth year at Stony Brook University, set for graduation in spring 2019. I am a Health Science major, and I am a double minor in biology, and writing and rhetoric. Read on through my blog and I’ll tell you all about my formative experiences and personal narrative, and you’ll see my trials and my triumphs.

I made this blog for an assignment in my WRT 304 class. This is my first foray into web design, and I’ve previously had no previous experience in coding and only limited experience in designing a digital portfolio. I ask you to keep that in mind if at any point you think “gee, this blog looks like it was designed by a 12 year old.” I’m just trying to nail the basics of web design here, with a greater focus on functionality than form; hopefully, you’ll have no problem navigating my website, but feel free to email me if you do (robert.burmeister@stonybrook.edu).

Thank you for visiting my site, I hope you like what you see and you get something out of it!
