GLAUCOMA

  • High eye pressure from fluid build-up in front of eye causes damage to the optic nerve.
  • Most common in older adults. Change is gradual and typically affects peripheral vision first.
  • Advanced stages result in tunnel vision.
  • Common risk factors include diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure.
