Welcome!!

Hi Everybody!

My name is Samantha Marfoglio and I am currently a first year Master’s student at Stony Brook University.

I love being a Biomedical Engineer for me it is the perfect blend of medicine and math. I always wanted to be a doctor but I can’t stand the sight of blood. So that got checked off the list pretty fast. I still wanted to help people suffering from diseases and disorders so, I started looking for other majors where I could solve medical issues using my strengths like math and science. Through that search I found BME and the rest as they say is history.

I started my BME education at Boston University where I concentrated in nanotechnology, specifically in biomaterials and mechanobiology. While continuing my education I hope to utilize and expand my knowledge of biomaterials and mechanobiology by moving into different pathologies and length scales.
