Project 3: Space, Place, and environment
Explanation: I chose to do a series of photos of a variety of places on Stony Brook University campus. I chose places that have significance to me and places that I still visit often.
The Story Behind the Photo: This photo was taken on staller steps. Its somewhere I usually relax, take a breather and enjoy the fresh air. Students get so consumed in their work that sometimes we forget to just look outside and take a minute to breathe.
The Story Behind the Photo: This is a mini waterfall right next to the mathematics and physics building. I hang out around this area a lot becasue it is where I study. Because its so far from everything none of my friends come with me and I am usually alone. I like to sit by the fountain and listen to the running water. Its a good place to clear your mind.
The Story Behind the Photo: I named this photo “THE steps” because it is notoriuosly known as “Staller Steps” and it is like the heart of the campus. Everyone goes here, especially when the weather is warm. People play sports, read and enjoy the sun. I usually go here when I feel overwhelmed. I like to observe other people as a form of temporary distraction. But in this photo, Staller Steps is empty almost like a ghost town.
The Story Behind the Photo: This picture is of the running track outside by the campus recreation center. I would always go here to do my daily run and destress from constant school work. I would usually run during thr late evening until the sun goes down so I could catch the sunset but this day I just liked how the sun made “light beams” through the clouds.
The Story Behind the Photo: I took this photo last winter. I use to live in Langmuir which is the closest to the LIRR. But I would always walk down this path whenever I was going to go back to the city to visit my family.
The Story Behind the Photo: This photo is of a pathway I take often to one of my friend’s dorm. Its a really long walk from each others room so I usually go to her room. But I named the picture Grey because her name is Greisy.
The Story Behind the Photo: This is a picture of my first football game this semster. I was never involved on campus during my freshman year here at Stony Brook university but this year I decided to be more social so I went to a football game and it is one of the best memories I will keep with me for a long time. This was a big step towards a more social semster for me.
