MINIMALISM

The story behind the photo: This girl named Veronica has dreamt of becoming a model one day. She told me she doesn’t see models that look like her or have her body types and wanted to change the industry. Her biggest issue was she didn’t believe in her own beauty so we did a photoshoot so I could prove to her she has her own beauty to offer. I composed the picture like this becauseĀ I wanted her to be the center of attention. I wanted to capture the bricks perfectly stacked behind her because I wanted to use the “leading lines” technique which uses lines to draw attention to the main subject of the photo.

UNCOMFORTABLE

The Story behind the photo: This Is Jia a good friend of mine from middle school and we grew up together all the way up until the senior year of high school. Jia is a very masculine guy who feels uncomfortable when it comes to feelings or doing anything that is seen as soft. So I instructed him to sit in a field and pose for the camera and in the photo, you can see how uncomfortable he is through his frown and serious face. the contrast between the serious subject and. The soft environment creates an interesting mood in the photo.

GLASS

The story behind the photo: When I started photography I would practice on flowers. I always felt like they are the easiest thing to photograph. This particular day it was rainy and gloom and I wanted to try to capture rain droplets because I always had a hard time getting those. types of details to be clear. I chose this particular flower because of how thin and fragile it looks which is why I named the photo “GLASS”. I angled my camera more to the side so you could see the. thin petals and see how the raindrops look like they weigh down the flower.
