Task 5

This page is for Task 5, which was all about color.

1. Analogous Physical Property Color

Originally, I had a few different fruit options for analogous. As you can see, the apple and banana made it to the final cut. However, when I saw that one of my friends had brought in construction paper, my plans took a turn toward paper boats.

While I was shooting, people beside me were joking about what the meaning could be. It has been established that it means fruits are part of a balanced breakfast.

2. Complementary Physical Property Color

I thought it would be fun to use my blue water bottle, since it went so nicely with the orange paper and went with the paper boat theme (water).

3. Triadic Physical Property Color

I decided to use a purple, green, and orange.

More paper was found, and suddenly, I had a whole paper navy.

4. Analogous Lights Color

The analogous uses red and yellow/orange. I really liked using the gels.

5. Complementary Lights Color

Once again, I used an orange and blue for the complementary colors. I have found that I really like that combination.

6. Triadic Lights Color

This picture has more of a story. We, at the time of shooting, were missing the third gel holder and the third light metal ring that goes around it. We had to be creative. At first, we tried using the pink background as a red background by having someone hold the gel and making it as red as possible, while the person was lit up blue and yellow. But it was hard to get it away from pink and orange. The blue and yellow was always strong, though. The background also faded quickly into a purple blue.

So……..alas I had an idea. I took a red gel and put it diagonally half way up my camera lens to get that red in there. I really thought it was a hopeless idea at the time of doing it, but when I saw it, I really liked the outcome.
