Computer Programming – My coursework at Stony Brook has allowed me to become highly capable in HTML and CSS coding and has given me a working knowledge of Java. Addtitionally, through my work with Microsoft Access, I have become comfortable creating basic SQL queries. Outside of my academic career, I have also become familiar with Python.
Operating Systems – I have worked with every version of Microsoft Office from Windows 93 through Windows 8, and am an advanced user and troubleshooter of Vista, 7, and 8. I am also familiar with Ubuntu Linux. As far as mobile operating systems, I am a highly proficient user of devices running iOS and Android, and have experience troubleshooting both type of devices through my work as a former Verizon employee.
Microsoft Office Suite – By using advanced features, I am able to create professional and aesthetically pleasing Microsoft Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint documents. I currently work with Microsoft Access for my senior project, and am comfortable creating tables, relationships, forms, reports, and SQL queries. I use Excel spreadsheets and charts on a regular basis to manage school club funds, and analyze data for reports. Finally, I have become familiar with Microsoft Project to create GANTT charts in order to stay on task for various projects.
Retail sales – I worked as a Wireless Sales Consultant for Verizon Wireless in Lake Grove, NY. During my time with Verizon, I conducted regular sales calls, renewed existing client contracts, and performed account maintenance. Additionally, I successfully convinced clients of other cell phone providers to sign a contract with Verizon by building value in the company’s services and selection of devices.
Customer Service – I have over six years of experience working directly with clients and customers. Throughout my work history, I have analyzed client and customer needs in order to determine the best solution to their problems or requests, while maintaining a quality reputation for the companies I have worked for. My experience has spanned a wide range of fields, including mobile/wireless service, restaurant, hospitality, and grocery industries.
