March Fundraiser now officially closed—Feeding America

We are excited to announce that the March fundraiser, in collaboration with the Women in Business, Finance Society, and the Golf Club, is now officially closed! A huge thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to this incredible cause. As we said, every dollar counts—and thanks to your generosity, we raised a total of $552! This means nearly 5,000 meals will be provided to those in need, making a real impact on the lives of those affected by the hurricane.

It feels great to see our community come together to support such an important cause. Your kindness and dedication show just how powerful we can be when we unite for something good. We appreciate each and every one of you who helped make this possible!

Thank you again, and we look forward to more opportunities to give back in the future!

ATTENDANCE AND POINTS TRACKER

This is a critical reminder that we have 7 potential points left this semester (see list of upcoming events at the beginning of this newsletter). Some of you are currently at risk of not meeting your requirements unless you attend every remaining event. Please refer to the points tracker to see your current status. Those highlighted in red are especially in jeopardy of not meeting the requirements.

This is also important because we are finalizing orders for: Official BAP T-Shirts, Membership Certificates, and Graduation Stoles. We must know who will be completing their requirements so we can proceed with accurate orders. If you fall short, you will not be eligible to receive any of these. Reminder – April 23rd is induction, Mandatory.

MEMBERSHIP AND PLEDGING REQUIREMENTS

BAP follows a point-based system where each activity or event is worth 1 point. To maintain their status as a pledge or active member, students must accumulate the required number of points each semester they are enrolled at the university. Failure to meet this requirement may result in dismissal from the organization or placement on probation.

*Except for high school visits, which are valued at 2 points, all other meetings, events, and community outreach activities are valued at 1 point.

INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANTS (IMA)

IMA (Institute of Management Accountants) is a global association of accountants and financial professionals in business, founded in 1919. With over 125,000 members, it’s one of the largest and most respected associations dedicated to advancing the management accounting profession. IMA is committed to helping its members strengthen on-the-job skills, enhance company management, and accelerate career growth.

Important Information:

All students are welcome to attend, but as a reminder, if you are an IMA student member, you must attend at least 2 IMA dinners each year. These dinners are held on the second Tuesday of every month during the Spring 2025 semester.

  • Dinners will take place at The Mansion at Oyster Bay in Woodbury, NY, from 6:00 to 8:30 PM (cocktail hour from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, with dinner and panelists from 7:00 to 8:30 PM).
