Membership Requirements

 

Spring 2025 Requirements

BAP follows a point-based system where each activity or event is worth 1 point. To maintain their status as a pledge or active member, students must accumulate the required number of points each semester they are enrolled at the university. Failure to meet this requirement may result in dismissal from the organization or placement on probation.

With the exception of high school visits, which are valued at 2 points, all other meetings, events, and community outreach activities are valued at 1 point.

 

Pledge Requirements:

  • Undergraduate Students: Matriculated undergraduate student with an interest or formal declaration in accounting or finance. This could include just an interest or the formal declaration of a minor in accounting, a specialization in accounting or finance.
  • Graduate Students: Matriculated graduate student in the MS in accounting, MS in finance, MBA in accounting, or MBA in finance programs.
  • 3.0 minimum GPA in all program courses and 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA.
  • Completion of professional, service, and reaching out activities each semester to earn the required points as dictated by the chapter.
  • Payment of a one-time non-refundable candidate fee ($75) BAP national requirement
  • Subscription to the Code of Ethics of Beta Alpha Psi

Membership Requirements:

  • Successful completion of at least 6 weeks as a Candidate.
  • Completion of at least one and a half years of collegiate courses with enrollment or completion of at least one course in finance or accounting beyond the principles/introductory level. For transfer students, the most recent qualifying course must be at the initiating institution or another AACSB or EQUIS accredited institution.
  • 3.0 minimum GPA in all program courses and 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA.
  • Completion of professional, service, and reaching out activities each semester to earn the required points as dictated by the chapter.
  • Payment of a nominal annual fee ($20). This fee covers the attendance at social and recruiting functions.
