SSO101 Project

For Fall 2019, SSO101 students participated in our newly introduced Electronic Poster Project! Students showcased their work, around our 2019-2020 Going Viral  theme at the SSO Conference on Wednesday December 4, 2019, where awards were given for Best Poster and Best Presentation!

The Fall 2020 Electronic Poster Project for SSO101 will be based on our recently selected annual theme for 2020-2021: the Socioeconomic Impact of Natural Disasters!

Best Poster Fall 2019:

  • Deformed Wing Virus in Bees; Syeda Hussain, Jo Kim & Lillian Huynh (winner)
  • HIV/AIDS in the United States; Emily Cheung, Alyssa Salvador & Eric Peng (runner-up)


Best Presentations were awarded for the following poster presentations (students who attended and presented at the conference have their name in bold)

  • Do Viruses Qualify to Live?: Isra Ahmed, Devon Duncan, Syed Meer, Angela Gao Gina Koch
  • Dengue Fever: Alexa Guiaso, Julia Salino & Areej Niaz
  • Measles and Anti Vaxxers: Andrew McFarlane, Cole Eisenberg, Gabriello Lima & Ian Berry
