    ARS 420 – Senior Seminar

The Senior Seminar Show of the Class of Fall 2020 is a show for every student that has come this far and participated in the Critique Course for seniors this semester. Each of the students developed a body of work in their individual area of focus, and created their own solo show/project. This project was created based on the creative process that the students developed through their education here, on the Stony Brook campus and specifically in the Stony Brook Art Department.

These works demonstrate the critical thinking of this cohort, which had to go, like all of us, into the circumstances of isolation and working remotely, away from its community, and away from the studio. We worked together as a group and as individuals to create a community and a space to work and think. Each student developed a unique voice to make something, and keep making, and we created a space to exhibit the work. The techniques vary from installation, printmaking, painting to photography and video.
