Three undergraduate researchers from the Sustainability and Health of Urban Infrastructure Laboratory presented posters at the URECA Celebration of Undergraduate Research & Creativity on April 29, 2015. They represented 75% of the civil engineering delegation to the symposium that included more than 250 posters and presentations from all departments at Stony Brook University.


Kevin Gonzalez’s poster was entitled “Finite Element Modeling of Friction and Hole Elongation of Steel Eye-Bars in a Pin-Connected Joint.”



Jason Lai (left) presented the poster “Multi-phase Optimization of Trusses using Real-World Cost Functions” that included Daniel Foreman (right) from Syosset High School as a co-author.


Justin Yip poster was entitled “Role of Cross Section Shape on the Seismic Energy Dissipation of Rocking Columns.”
