Project 5: Perception Studies

Social Anxiety

is an intense, persistent fear of being watched and judged by others.

Oftentimes in group activities, it may feel like you are being singled out and can affect work, school, and other daily activities. This can result in difficulties making and keeping friends. Similar to other perception disorders, social anxiety is a spectrum. It may affect some individuals more and some less. Luckily, people CAN work on getting over social anxiety through gradually interacting with more and more people.

My series of photographs was taken at TSA x CASB’s night market. The first two conveys a sense of anxiety and inability to look at others’ faces. The last two portrays serenity, where you eventually get away the crowd with your friends. The last picture in particular is calming after experience a huge crowd.
