project 5 portraiture
Calmness(self portraits)
Impression(friends)
Bashfulness(strangers)
As a portrait photographer, it is important to find your models’ characteristics and consider about what they think about your photographs. I asked some friends and strangers as a model for me, someone rejected that because they think they are not good-looking enough before the shot. What photographers should do is communicate with them patiently and help them build their confidences by your artworks.

Lee Friedlander, New York City, 1966 gelatin-silver print, 11 x 14 inches
Lee took him self portraits from an interesting angle. There isn’t any shot on his body but only his shadow. However, it still show his strong personalites.
Vivian Maier, Self Portrait, 1960.
The composition of this photo is perfect.
Vivian Maier, Self-Portrait; October 18, 1953, New York, NY
I like the light and shadow contrast in this photo. They divided her body and showed a special visual experience.
project 4 Red rose and White rose
My project is a story about two roses. I use the roses as a symbol of women to show the relationship between men and women.
Every man has such two women in his life.
One is passion, sexy as a red rose.
The other is pure, soft as a white rose.
Once he owned the white rose, he will miss the red rose which beautiful as the sunset.
If he owned the red rose, the white rose will become the moonlight before his bed.
Neither the red rose, nor white rose could be everlasting, roses only could exist in mens’ fancies.
