As an artist I tend to use the creative process to express my emotions and work through the events of my life. The thing about art that continues to fascinate me is how it allows us to view life through another person’s perspective. It’s an intimate experience and a unique way of communicating. Art can be truer than life in a sense because of the artist’s ability to convey MORE than what something is. You can convey how it FEELS and the essence of the subject. Due to where I take inspiration from, any of my works are a reflection of reality. By taking inspiration from my memories, I am reflecting reality through the lens of my own experience with an artistic medium. I consider my own art to be successful if I have imparted enough of my own emotion into making art that a viewer will understand not only what I am literally putting on the canvas, but the feeling behind the piece.
