Skyler, your message and abstraction project was by far one of my favorite series of photos of all in this class. The concept was incredibly creative and symbolic. As a journalism student, it almost pained me to see a newspaper on fire though (lol). Great work!
Really love all your work! I think your “Today’s Briefing” piece is really well executed and has a great message behind it. Especially with what is happening in the world today. Great job overall
Hi Skyler, I’m impressed by the photos you took, and especially so for the message and abstraction portion. Normally I like to take photos of slow moving objects so it gives me time to get it perfect, but setting the newspaper ablaze like that certainly increases the thrill and risk. You did have a fire extinguisher on hand, right?
I really liked the picture of your dog, Lupus. As I have three dogs myself I can appreciate the art of getting them to stay still for a photo lol. I really like how the lighting was especially low, allowing for the shadows of the picture to really stand out and create a nice contrast to what we normally think of a “good photo”.
“Today’s Briefing” is excellent! Just like what we are expiring now, there was a time I did not open any news websites or SSN to pretend nothing happened lol. And, how could you make Lupus settle down and took a pic for him/her? I tried millions of times but my naughty boy just wanted to eat my lens🤣
That portrait of your dog is great. It’s such a good interplay between highlights and shadows. I also think that setting a newspaper on fire was brilliant and I’m surprised how calm your subject looks.
I was really impressed with the subjects of a lot of your photos, particularly “Lupus” and “Today’s Briefing.” I’ve always loved photos that capture a particular moment, and I think both of these photos do that great. Also, “Today’s Briefing” reminds me a lot of the album cover for PUP’s “The Dream is Over,” I’m curious if that was the inspiration.
I really enjoyed your Project 2 of Message and Abstraction mostly because of the interesting title and photo of the paper on fire, it was very well taken the details are so nice and it was quite funny to see!
I really enjoyed the picture “truss front” from your project three. I like how there is a very clear symmetry in the picture but it is almost cast away by the shadows of the sun, it keeps the picture more realistic to me.
I really enjoy the photos you made in the message and abstraction collection especially “Today’s Briefing”. The burning fire contrasts with the static person sharply. Also, the black suit and the black glass he wore convey some kind of black humor. Great job!
The first one is subject and object, the dog was so artistic. I like the photos you took, the light and shadow shots are very good, and when I see the environment pictures that make me feel so relax. The scenery is really great!

A garden hose was present, yes.

Hi, I like all your photos so much! I can tell you put so many elements and concepts in the photos. And they are really high quality.

All your work is great, and is the most unforgettable one! The irony expressed in this photo is very special and interesting. Great Job!
