The first official Vax to Flax was a success! The weather was cool and sunny. Bloody Mary’s and bagels at the end kept the runner’s motivated. The reverse course seemed to please most people-less hills and scenic Flax Pond. Student’s won, but it was close (not really). Runners set a quick pace from the start. Michael took the lead early on and kept it the whole race. According to Etienne, “he doesn’t even look tired, just happy!”. Mark came in first for the faculty/staff, also winning first runner in the Rangers fan division (at least their fans are winning). Jeanne came in first woman; winning the montauk half-ironman didn’t tire her out Claire beat Bart by one head length. Some faculty (o.k., only one-the guy with the loud shotts) protested that she was in fact dog-assisted, is this cause for disqualification? Nicole took first place in the category for runners competing shortly after unschedli.Ied departures from rock-climbing. walls. Bob C. wins first for having the cutest cheering squad. Thanks to all who participated, runners and spectators.
