The next Topics in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (TAOS) seminar will take place onWednesday, October 16, at 12:00 noon in Endeavour Hall 120. Professor Xiaofeng Li from NOAA’s Center for Weather and Climate Prediction will present a seminar entitled, “Marine Atmospheric Boundary-Layer Phehnomena from Spaceborne Synthetic Aperature Radar.” Light refreshments will be served. This week’s Oceans and Atmosphere Colloquium will take place on Friday, October 18, at 12:00 noon in Endeavour Hall 120. As a reminder from the Payroll Office,  this is an important time of year to update mailing addresses for distribution of tax documents.  Home addresses may be updated by logging into your SOLAR system account.

Student News

Carpet installation in Endeavour Hall 113 is now complete.  Classes that were temporarily moved out of Endeavour 113 may now resume.

Save the Date!  This year’s SoMAS holiday party will be held on Wednesday, December 18, at Flowerfield in St. James.  Details will be provided in a future newsletter.

There will be a UUP General Membership meeting on Tuesday, October 15, at 12:00 noon in the Student Activities Center, Ballroom A.  Agenda items are Approval of Chapter By-Law Changes, Discussion of the PEP Program, and a Benefits Presentation.  Lunch will be provided.  RSVP online at http://www.uupsbu.org.
