The next Topics in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (TAOS) seminar will take place onWednesday, October 23, at 12:00 noon in Endeavour Hall 120. Professor Erica McGrath-Spangler from the Global Monitoring and Assimilation Office, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, will present a seminar entitled, “Global Seasonal Variations of Planetary Boundary Layer Depth.” Light refreshments will be served. This week’s Oceans and Atmosphere Colloquium will take place on Friday, October 25, at 12:00 noon in Endeavour Hall 120. Professor Malin L. All are welcome to attend a seminar at Brookhaven National Laboratory on Thursday, October 24, at 11:00 a.m. in the conference room of building 815E.  Jorge E. Gonzalez, NOAA/CREST Professor of Mechanical Engineering from the City College of New York, will present a seminar entitled, “Regional Climate Changes in Urbanized Coastal Areas: Combined and Separate Effects for LCLU and Green House Gases.”  A photo ID is required for entrance to BNL.

Upcoming Deadline: UGRD & SPD “I” TO “I/F” GRADES:  October 25 – Incomplete (“I”) Removal for Undergraduate-Last day for removal of Incomplete grades from the Spring and Summer 2013 terms.  November 1 -Incomplete (“I”) Removal for SPD Graduate students – Last day for removal of Incomplete grades from the Spring and Summer 2013 terms. ALL “I” grades for SPD Graduate students WILL BE converted to “I”/“F” grades after the deadline expires on November 1, 2013. SPD Graduate students “I” grades from the Spring and Summer 2013 terms WILL NOT be extended to the end of the Fall 2013 term. ALL Undergraduate “I” grades from the Spring and Summer 2013 terms WILL BE extended until the end of the Fall 2013 term, Friday, December 6, 2013. In the event you would like to request an Undergraduate “I” grade from the Spring or Summer 2013 term NOT be extended until the last day of classes for Fall 2013, and therefore converted to an “I”/“F” grade on October 25, 2013, please submit your request to Jaime Wicks (jaime.wicks@stonybrook.edu) by no later than Wednesday, October 23, 2013. Please be sure to include the student name, SBID and course information. For students who have completed their course work, the “I” grade may be changed via SOLAR or if you prefer you may submit a Grade Change Form through your department office.
