This week’s Topics in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (TAOS) seminar will take place on Wednesday, February 19, at 12:00 noon in Endeavour Hall 120. Dr. Louis-Philippe Nadeau from the Department of Earth, Atmosphere and Planetary Sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology will present a seminar entitled, “The Role of Basin-Like Dynamics in the Antarctic Circumpolar Current.” Light refreshments will be served. This week’s Oceans and Atmosphere Colloquium will take place on Friday, February 21, at 12:00 noon in Endeavour Hall 120. Professor Michael White from the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences will present a seminar entitled, ” What Do We Make Every Day, Give Away, But Never Really Goes Away? The Committee on Honorary Degrees is seeking nominations of candidates for SUNY Honorary Degrees to be awarded in 2015. To nominate someone, please submit a one-page summary about the nominee, identifying the nominee by name, title, present position, and/or profession. The remainder of the page should summarize the nominee’s most important achievements and the relevance of these achievements to Stony Brook’s mission.
