Information, Talks, and Publications about Atmospheres
Welcome back! The Fall 2014 semester officially begins on Monday, August 25.
The first Topics in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (TAOS) seminar will take place on Wednesday, August 27, at 12:00 noon in Endeavour Hall 120. Professor Eli Tziperman from the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Harvard University will present a seminar entitled, “Snowball-Earth Events: Biologically Induced Initiation and Coupled Ice-Ocean Flows.” All are welcome to attend. First year graduate students, please remember to sign the attendance sheet located on the coffee table in the back of the conference room.
The first Oceans and Atmosphere Colloquium this semester will take place on Friday, September 5. Additional details will be provided in next week’s newsletter.
The first Friday Weather Discussion for this semester will take place on August 29 at 4:30 p.m. in Endeavour Hall 139. Topic to be announced on day of discussion.

A SoMAS faculty meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, September 3, at 3:00 p.m. in Endeavour Hall 120.
