Information, Talks, and Publications about Atmospheres

This week’s Topics in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (TAOS) seminar will take place on Wednesday, October 1, at 12:00 noon in Endeavour Hall 120.  Professor Melissa Free from NOAA’s Air Resources Laboratory in College Park, Maryland, will present a seminar entitled, “Trends in U.S. Cloud Cover.”   All are welcome to attend. Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) is soliciting applications for the Renate W. Chasman Scholarship which is being administered by Brookhaven Women in Science.  The scholarship encourages women to pursue a career in STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). It is open to women who are undergraduate seniors or graduate students at an accredited educational institution doing research at BNL. The University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) Visiting Scientist Programs announces the 2015 recruitment for NOAA Climate and Global Change Postdoctoral Fellowships. The UCAR Visiting Scientist Programs also announces the 2015 call for applications for the Jack Eddy Postdoctoral Fellowships sponsored by the NASA Living with a Star Program.  Fellowships are designed to train the next generation of researchers in the emerging field of Heliophysics.  Applications are dueJanuary 16, 2015.  For details, please access www.heliophysics.ucar.edu
