The Institute for Terrestrial and Planetary Atmospheres (ITPA) invites a distinguished scholar each year to present a seminar to honor the contributions of Distinguished Professor Emeritus Robert D. Cess to the development of atmospheric sciences at Stony Brook University. Dr. Howard Bluestein from the School of Meteorology at the University of Oklahoma is the Distinguished Cess Lecturer for 2016.
Dr. Bluestein presented his Cess seminar on “Rapid-Scan, Polarimetric, Mobile Doppler Radar Observations of the El Reno, Oklahoma Tornadic Supercell of 31 May 2013” at SoMAS on Wednesday, February 17, 2016.
