Drs. Brad Peterson and Joe Warren are currently leading a group of students looking to leave the cold and rain of New York during the Winter Intersession in the tropical environment of Discovery Bay, Jamaica for MAR 388 / 537 – Tropical Marine Ecology. This 4 credit lab course will have the students learning the names of the myriad of plants, invertebrates, and fish on the reef which is conveniently located about 100 meters from where they eat and sleep.
The students are documenting their trip on the class blog. Be sure to check back for multiple updates every day written by the students!
SoMAS offers a variety of courses over the Winter Intersession that are a great way to earn credits over the break while also going Far Beyond the classroom!
