Last week, Professor Nicole Riemer attended the 24th annual AAAR (American Association for Aerosol Research) conference in Austin, Texas. Professor Riemer presented a talk entitled, “Mesoscale Aerosol Modeling for Global Climate Prediction: Modeling the Aging Process of Soot.” This year, six specialty symposia focused on the transport and transformation of atmospheric aerosols, the delivery and biological effects of inhaled particles, the use of space-based aerosol data, the emission of pollutants by aircraft, homeland security issues related to aerosols, and particulate matter pollution problems inside cars and other microenvironments. The conference was the forum for more than 700 presentations of research in all aerosol-related areas
