Ellen K. Pikitch was among a group of witnesses that provided testimony at The U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Natural Resources Legislative Hearing in Washington, D.C., on February 4. Pikitch testified that amendments recently proposed by the Committee’s Chairman threaten many important provisions of the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act, or Magnuson-Stevens Act, the primary law governing U.S. marine fisheries management.
