What is it, you ask?? –

SOUNDREAMS is a campus-wide, visual and sound art installation. An essential element of the SOUNDREAMS show is the app called RECHO, which can be downloaded for free on Apple mobile devices. Stony Brook composers and performers are using RECHO to create original music which is “pinned” to a specific place on campus. Anyone with the RECHO app can hear the music when they are in the area where the music is pinned. During the month of November, the SAC Gallery will have maps on the walls that show people where they can go to hear the different “RECHO music” at different hot spots on campus. Stony Brook composers, musicians, scholars, and artists will give lectures and perform in the SAC Gallery throughout the month. SOUNDREAMS is sponsored by CDACT, The SBU Music Department, Student Activities, and DoIT.

This art installation will be opening in the SAC Gallery on November 3rd @ 1:00pm, and the show will run in the gallery until December 1st!

There will be a reception in the gallery @ 4:00pm on November 5th.
