Oil on Canvas
A memory, although not a tangible thing, is something that is malleable and can fade and change overtime in your mind. It is something that was once a present moment in time but is now a vague thought that fades the more time passes. For this piece, I was drawn to the idea of rendering the concept of memory into physical form. Each brushstroke and mark is intentional, continuously reiterating that a memory, unlike a still life or a snapshot, is fluid and not all of the details are remembered as time goes on. Just like a memory that lives in the spaces of ones brain, people are also fluid, constantly molding into their surroundings.
