The Big Man on Campus Has My Ticket to Ride is a painting in which the act of painting allowed me to lay myself bare. I have no interest in iconoclasm, rather I’m using Stony Brook vernacular. Within me there is an insidious self hatred. It tells me not to hold hands, fall in love, or be my authentic self. I am tired.

To quote Shakespeare “A coward dies a thousand times before his death, but the valiant taste of death but once.” It’s time for me to stop dying.
