As a part of AWA: Actions of Water Awareness, Sound Studies and Experimental practices conference, the Department of Art and Hispanic Languages and Literature, invite to all of our undergrad or grad students to participate in the Coastal Currents Workshop.
Join us for an immersive experience in field recording and collaborative sound-making.
We’ll begin in the wetlands, listening deeply with hydrophones, geophones, and biosonifiers tools that reveal the hidden vibrations of water, soil, and life.
Guided by Buena Onda Collective, from Far Rockaway, NY, we’ll tune in to the multispecies rhythms of place, capturing what often goes unheard. Back on campus, we’ll remix and share our recordings in an outdoor interactive sound installation. Transforming the landscape into a living, breathing soundscape.
April 25 9.30 am to 4.30 PM
Open to 12 students
