The trawl from LIS was similar to that from Shinnecock Bay. However, we did two trawls instead of one. In the first trawl, we caught a female spider crab, a male mud crab, a baby black finger white crab, as well as many winter and summer flounder. We learn to identify summer and winter flounder; the summer flounder had a large mouth with teeth, whereas the winter flounder had no teeth. On the spider crab, we found many slipper shells. In addition, there were about five lion’s mane jellyfishes that were caught from the trawl along with seaweed.
