RAGHU RAI.

“There is one thing the photograph must contain, the humanity of the moment.”

— Robert Frank

Every photographer has their own  story like any other normal person in the world. Raghu Rai is a phenomenal Indian photographer his works are renowned and brilliant. Raghu Rai currently lives with his family in Delhi, India.

I am so inspired by his work not only because his photographs have so much perspective to them also because Raghu Rai captures them in times of  difficulty humans face during different situation in their life, for instance the pictures clicked during Bangladesh Genocide,1971 or the ones in Bhopal gas tragedy,1984. All the pictures were taken at the time I was not even born they still evoke so much emotion in me. There so much you can learn by just  looking at the pictures taken back then. I am so glad to have made this presentation using the works(photographs) of Raghu Rai for my photography class.

As the quote states a photograph must contain one thing and that is humanity of the moment this quote beautiful falls in place with Raghu rai’s work.He captures the phases that humanity goes through from time to time. The photographs are proof that bad times always come to an end.

“To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”
— Elliott Erwitt
