Exigency is an important term to consider before analyzing any piece of literature, media, or entertainment. It is often deeper than simply being given a task to write, as most rhetorical analyses are driven by the writer’s motivation and drive to discuss the development of any topic. For my rhetorical essay, I have chosen to write about Nusret Gokce, or more commonly known as “salt-bae”, whose initial cooking video, full of style, became popular worldwide. One of the most popular meme trend of 2017, salt bae soon became an extremely influential trend, followed by the mimicry of many people in different styles.
In early 2017, “salt-bae” released his first video that showed him finely cutting a huge piece of steak with grace and beauty, and finally ending with a dash of salt done with such style that it captured millions of hearts. He soon became known for the salt sprinkle in his unique style and finesse, thus the naming sense behind “salt-bae.” Although I am mainly analyzing his unique methods because it is a class requirement, I also want to analyze his unique style and grace and understand what about this particular form of art is so amazing that it became a worldwide trend. In order to do that, I will need to first analyze the intent behind the original video as well as analyze the style and execution of the video. Then I will study its effect on the populace and try to understand why so many people love his art so much. Here is a picture that captures the essence of the video as well as the original YouTube video that started this trend.

Introduction
Hi my name is Syed Hussain, and I prefer to be referred to as “Hamza”. I was born in the United States, yet I have only stayed about half of my life in the country. The other half I spent I Pakistan, where I was raised and educated in the earlier parts of my life. I moved back to USA during 6th grade, and was generally quite unfamiliar with the new system of education and lifestyle, and most importantly, I was very unfamiliar with the new language. However this changed very soon when I made leaps and bounds in English class, not only learning how to speak properly, but also learning how to do minimal essay and short-answer writing. In 7th grade, my English had improved to the point where I was one of the few people in the class level to receive an English award for excellence. My next major growth year was sophomore year of high school, a high level English class that completely revitalized and enhanced my writing skills. I was taught how to write in various formats and improved so much that I soon had multiple requests to edit essays for them. I hope to learn more writing skills through this course and learn how to analyze and develop different forms of writing.
Aside from my English career, I had other developments as well. I always held interests of different natures and explored newer things in hopes of learning a little bit of everything. I was always an avid reader but I also partook in online gaming and athletics. I love to read science fiction and fantasy novels because they allow me to live many lives, and I loved action-packed and adventurous games that kept me busy throughout each day. I also played a multitude of sports, such as cricket, soccer, football, and volleyball. I also followed many different interests throughout high school and always stayed busy and interested. The following picture is one of my favorites because it helped strengthen me during my times of loneliness.
