I love portraits because I love learning about other people. I’m super fascinated with the idea, or the reality, that everyone has a story and contributes to this world. For example, in the strangers that I photographed, I learned that Jay loves cars and a lot of the reason why he’s working so hard is so he can buy his own Audi. I also learned that those two girls have been best friends since HS and ended up going to Stony Brook together. What I loved the most is seeing my friend’s/brother’s reaction and excitement to the photographs I took of them. They even gained a deeper appreciation for photography and I guess for me for expressing interest in photographing them.
