- Sharing needles, razors, toothbrushes
- Contact with infected blood or open sores
- Contact with infected body fluids (during sexual intercourse)
- This is the most common reason for transmission in the US
- Infected woman to her newborn during pregnancy or childbirth
- The majority of chronic HBV patients were infected by mother-child transmission
- HBV is not spread through breast feeding
- People can spread HBV without knowing it because they may not exhibit any symptoms
But do not worry. HBV is preventable!
