So… what is it we’re doing?
Our team intends to merge the intuitive input of pointing, made affordable by the Microsoft Kinect, with the immersive display afforded by projection. By pointing to menu items projected on a surface, a user can trigger expanded information or start playback of a video.
With our initial initial implementation, we hope to create a seamless way for museum guests to learn more about topics they point to, but the interface could be used elsewhere. Any exhibition of simple details that could be expanded, be it educational or commercial, could be implemented intuitively with this interface. Using off-the-shelf hardware, this cheap, all-in-one package should be competitive with more specialized hardware.

About that name…
We’re doing a project centered on projection, and wanted to take a subtle jab at how uninspired academic project names tend to be. And we have no intention of working on future projects together, so we could make the same joke with the team name. It’s Team Project’s (verb) Project (noun) Project (verb).
But once you explain the joke doesn’t it stop being funny?
Who said anything about funny?
