Alyson Lowell (Ph.D. Candidate) – I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Dr. Peterson’s laboratory. My dissertation has taken me as far north as the Swedish Sub-Arctic and as far south as tiny island archipelagos in the Western Caribbean. My research centers on exploring the spatiotemporal plasticity of marine calcifiers in the context of climate change. I also have a fondness for large-scale community metabolics. When I’m not conducting research or processing samples, I can be found playing with homemade torches in Latin reggaeton clubs.
