As an artist, I’ve always been drawn to the idea of taking a portrait and distorting it in some way. Visually, it creates an interesting image to look at but more so it also encapsulates the concept of self identity in physical form. As people, we are always morphing and reflecting off of others and the environment around us, and I wanted to incorporate that in my series of portraits. I was interested in the reflection of someone through a wine glass, because not only is it fun to draw four eyes, it also represents that just like the fluid quality of water, identity is something that can morph into our surroundings and be seen in many different ways.
