Watching my grandmother age has made me think about the memories and times we have shared. She comes from Algeria, but moving to France after the war made her want to assimilate to French culture as much as possible. This means that she did not teach us traditions and customs while we were growing up. As I get older I want to learn more about my culture and origin, which I’ve started to do through my grandmother.
