Project 5: Perception Studies

Statement:

For this project, I have reached into the common yet impactful realm of nearsightedness, or myopia. This condition causes distant objects to appear blurred while close objects can be seen clearly. Inspired by the experiences of those living with nearsightedness, I have created a series of four images that attempt to capture the sensation of a world with a limited range of clear vision, where the distant environment becomes an elusive and blurred landscape.

“Whispers on the Wind”- ISO 100, ƒ/20, 1/60s

“Through the Eyes of Another”- ISO 100, ƒ/4.5, 1/800s

“Whispers of the Unknown, Curiosity kills the Cat”- ISO 800, ƒ/5.6, 1/60s

“Nature’s Paradox”- ISO 100, ƒ/10, 1/2000s
