Key Background Information

Here is some key background information about arrhythmia for the design project!

Arrhythmia is a heart condition where the heart beats with an irregular rhythm (electrical signal problems).

  • Tachycardia—over 100 beats per minute 
  • Bradycardia—less than 60 beats per minute

The Design Project’s Main Focus is AFib, Atrial Fibrillation.

  • Some Causes include:
    Narrow/blocked arteries
    Intense workouts
    – High blood pressure.
  • Symptoms of AFib include:
    – Lightheadedness
    Irregular heartbeat
    – Etc

Note: AFib is most common in athletes.
