Final Project Proposal ~ Street Photography
Hellllooo again !!
I played around with a few different ideas ideas for what I wanted to do with my final but the one thing that was common throughout all of my ideas was a focus on the human experience. This crazy thing we call existence is something I’ve been contemplating a lot so I wanted to my project to simply reflect that !
The first thing that came to mind when I thought of photographing the human experience was street photography. Thematically inspired by the viral Instagram account @humansofny but stylistically inspired by more contemporary NYC Street Photographers I decided to center my final project around capturing the experience of one day in the city. I wanted to play a very ‘Mark Cohen from RENT’ role throughout the day and document my friends, the day, the environment, and the experience. I tried to merge more casual street photography styles with the type of environmental portraiture that I am used to.

It’s nearly impossible to see the effects and benefits of digital media on modern society. Not only has it been able to improve the way we live our lives – it has molded them. Off the top of my head the most obvious improvement is its effect on communication. Digital media has provided the opportunity to bridge gaps throughout the world through connecting people and societies. It has had a profound effect on the art world through redefining what it means to create art. Digital media has improved the way we learn and teach. Of course it’s impossible to discuss the benefits of digital media without noting it also has the potential to be harmful.

The Camera
Hello hello!!!
Here are the images for ‘The Camera’ project! I usually like to process my photos a bit more than I did here but I wanted to make sure the focus was on the outcomes of the various settings (not to put out a disclaimer but yk). Almost all of my images were taken at a beach in Stony Brook during golden hour and the other ones were taken in my bedroom. Anyway enough of all that, here are the photos…
