The Stony Brook Undergraduate History Journal publishes the work of our undergraduate students. We feature a wide range of historical topics from local University history to long-form research articles on academic historical topics. We encourage students to be creative in their submissions to the journal. The online nature of the journal allows for the implementation of multimedia including images and audio files. We will accept:
Papers written for a History Department course (with permission of the instructor)
Independent research
Feature articles regarding the Department or other historical events (interviews, book reviews, etc.)
Visual and Audio entries (photo essays and podcasts)
How to Submit
If you are interested in submitting, reach out to the members of the editorial board via their personal emails or email SBUHistoryJournal@gmail.com. Article submissions should be in a shared Google Doc and include at least one image related to the topic of your piece.
If you would like to contribute to the journal but are not sure how, feel free to reach out to the editorial board and we will be happy to assist in developing the topic of your article.
