During week 13, there is a campus wide event called Roth Regatta and the goal of this event is to make a boat out of cardboard, paint, string, and tape and get it across Roth pond first. The interns of TLT and the senior cons work together to build a boat that is equally stable and creative. This year, we decided on building Appa, the flying bison from Avatar. We named it Unst-Appa-ble which I thought was very clever. Working together with my coworkers have made me realized the importance of teamwork when working on a big project such as building a boat. Everyone had to be coordinated and did what they were suppose to do. during the event, our boat was able to successfully get through the first heat with out senior cons rowing. In the end, we did not win but the experience of boat building brings everyone together since we all enjoyed what we did. This has also reminded me of the one of the lego lessons about the end project gives us motivation to make it. Since we were all familiar with Appa and wanted to make it come to life, we worked hard on making that happen.
