Temperatures tonight should be slightly below normal due to ideal conditions for radiational cooling (clear sky and very light winds). After cooler weather the past few days, high temperatures will once again be above normal through Friday (the normal high for Islip Airport this time of the year is 71 degrees), as an area of high pressure to our northwest begins to shift to the east. Winds will generally increase throughout the day on Thursday. Some clouds are possible Friday and Friday night due to an area of low pressure that will be well to the south of our area.
