A core of high surface pressure has built up in the eastern third of the country, resulting in mostly dry weather for much of the beginning of the week.  A surface low associated with an upper level disturbance will form off the coast of the Carolinas by Monday and begin to track northward, possibly impacting Long Island with rain on Tuesday.
