Synopsis:

An arctic cold front has passed over Long Island this morning.  A very cold air mass is over our region with temperatures falling throughout the day.  A strong high pressure system is moving in to keep air dry and reinforce the cold air building in from the arctic. We may have record low temperatures tonight. It will remain cold on Saturday as high pressure moves in, but then it will warm up for Sunday as high pressure moves over the Atlantic and the wind switches to southerly.
