Synopsis:
High pressure gradually retreats north in response to Hurricane Maria tracking northeast off the Mid-Atlantic coast. No impacts but high surf on ocean beaches are expected from Long Island but she will keep winds at a roughly easterly direction through Wednesday night, resulting in cooler temperatures than we have experienced over the weekend and Monday. A cold front will pass through early Thursday morning, with the core of the colder air mass arriving Friday. Thursday will be slightly cooler but noticeably drier.
