LaToya Ruby Frazier was born in 1982 in Pennsylvania. She lives in Chicago currently. She is an artist and activist. She works on photography, video, and performance. Her works include personal and social histories of midwestern America. Since Frazier grow up in steel industry, she faced health and environmental problem when she was young. She realized that her life was not exactly right from media that everyone sees. Therefore, she decided to do black and white documentary to record injustice of America.
